OVERVIEW
The Material Handler l (Inbound/Outbound) helps maintain the flow and order of the inbound and outbound section of the warehouse. They are responsible for the unloading, verification of inbound shipments, and preparation for put-away as well as the assembly, preparation and verification of outbound shipments.
This position reports to the Inbound/Outbound Supervisor, Warehouse Supervisor and Warehouse Manager and will interact on a regular basis with sales, administration, customer service, and management staff. This position works cooperatively with others.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the timely unloading of containers, verification of pallet configuration and count with the inbound manifest.
- Monitor and report any inbound issues, such as product condition, pallet configurations, labels, and customer specific requirements.
- Replenish forward pick locations for filling purchase orders.
- Pull/pick and stage product for shipment against customer purchase orders within the outbound section of the warehouse.
- Regularly operate RF scanner within our WMS system – High Jump ensuring accurate data information is obtained and recorded.
- Routes and prepares order for shipment according to company and customer standards.
- Monitor and report any outbound issues, such as product condition, pallet configurations, labels, and customer specific requirements, to meet customer purchase orders.
- Comply with all applicable standards, policies and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area.
- Advocates to others warehouse safety regulations, housekeeping practices and encourages employees to become safety conscious.
- Work diplomatically and effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Attendance is an essential function of this position.

REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma required.
- Minimum of two years relevant experience required.
- Warehouse experience in relevant industry preferred.
- Proficient in Warehouse Management Systems and RF Scanners – HighJump experience preferred.
- Ability to learn and follow warehouse procedures and processes.
- Professional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills that produce desired results.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external customers which includes coworkers, managers, customers, regulatory agencies and vendors.
- Capable of reading and interpreting information, such as reports, general correspondence and policy guidelines, with the ability to share with others as needed.
- Ability to use a computer and standard business and other work-related software with minimal instruction.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- While performing these duties the person is regularly required to walk, stand, bend, climb stairs, kneel, or crouch and successfully demonstrate the ability to write or use a computer or other electronic devices and operate a variety of hand and power tools.
- Employees in this position will need to regularly lift at least 50 pounds occasionally and may need to exert themselves while performing the above-mentioned duties.
- Perform a variety of physical labor including climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, reaching and standing for long periods of time. Also includes being able to lift boxes, tools, equipment and materials.
- Ability to drive a car and travel to worksites. Employee will be reimbursed mileage according to corporate reimbursement schedule if using a personal vehicle.
