OVERVIEW
The Director of Field Sales will spearhead the creation and management of a high-performing field sales team across the United States and Canada. This role will focus on business development and customer acquisition by engaging with end users, identifying their power protection needs, and positioning CyberPower’s solutions. The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader with a strong background in field sales, business development, and team management. (Candidates must be able to commute to work in Minnesota or willing to relocate by time of employment).
This position reports to the Vice President of Sales and will interact on a regular basis with sales, administration, customer service, and management staff. This position works cooperatively with others.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directing, leading, managing and developing a high-performing field sales team, including hiring, coaching, and performance management of sales employees.
- Build strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders to drive business development and growth.
- Meet or exceed revenue targets and profitability objectives by maximizing sales opportunities and optimizing field sales activities.
- Help the field team provide end users with the best power protection solutions for their critical equipment, while guiding them to reseller partners or, in certain cases, handling sales directly.
- Work closely with marketing, product management, and technical engineering teams to ensure alignment and drive the overall sales process.
- Oversee accurate sales forecasting, pipeline management, and reporting on key performance metrics.
- Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular reviews, and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
- Identify new business opportunities and expand the customer base through proactive market engagement.
- Provide valuable feedback to the product development team to ensure solutions are aligned with customer needs and market demands.
- Work diplomatically and effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Attendance is an essential function of this position.

REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communication, Sales or related field.
- Master Degree preferred.
- Minimum of Seven years sales experience in comparable or relevant industries.
- Minimum of three years prior supervisory experience.
- Proven success managing a growing sales team.
- Strong presentation and negotiation skills with mastery of sales and business development.
- Motivated and results driven.
- Knowledge of power supply products and market.
- Professional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills that produce desired results.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external customers which includes coworkers, managers, customers, regulatory agencies and vendors.
- Capable of reading and interpreting information, such as reports, general correspondence and policy guidelines, with the ability to share with others as needed.
- Ability to use a computer and standard business and other work-related software with minimal instruction.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- While performing these duties the person is regularly required to walk, stand, bend, climb stairs, kneel, or crouch and successfully demonstrate the ability to write or use a computer or other electronic devices and operate a variety of hand and power tools.
- Employees in this position may need to regularly lift at least [15 lbs. and up to 75] pounds occasionally and may need to exert themselves while performing the above-mentioned duties.
- Perform a variety of physical labor including climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, reaching and standing for long periods of time. Also includes being able to lift boxes, tools, equipment and materials.
- Ability to drive a car and travel to worksites. Employee will be reimbursed mileage according to corporate reimbursement schedule if using a personal vehicle.
